HOW WE DID IT

The key to success on this job was accurate made prop placement, the prop had to line up exactly to create the final shots.

Accurate placement of the props was crucial for the effect to work.

For the robot there were no fewer than 26 parts that all required precise placement. We used fairly detailed pre visuals and built from fixed camera position from a Diopter. We discovered that object down stage were fairly forgiving in terms of placement, however foreground items precision to the millimetre else they were wildly out of position. Such was the necessity for accuracy that the smaller objects required weighting to stop the draft from the camera moves swinging them out of position.
